Let's Fill Up Each Other's Buckets!

Let’s Fill Up Each Other’s Buckets!

.

Ephesians 4:15-16

15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

This verse says that every member of the body must grow up and work together.

Ephesians 2:20-22... built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.  In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit…..do we want the Lord dwelling in a drain or a fountain?? Do we want the Lord dwelling in a bucket filler or a bucket dipper????

As believers we are growing to be a temple to be a dwelling place for God.

How do we edify the Body of Christ….how do we build each other up?

1. "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear" (Eph. 4:29).

Words of grace are the right choice of words spoken at the right time with the right spirit.

2. "Be kinds to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you" (Eph. 4:32).

We love each other, forgive each other, put each other first.

"Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor." "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others" (Rom. 12:10, Phil. 2:4).  "Through love serve one another" (Gal. 5:13).

3. "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works . . . encouraging one another" (Heb. 10:24-25).

TEAM REFORMATION!!!

4. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Col. 3:16).

Romans 15:14 I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers,[a] that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another...sometimes that is how we fill each other out...by telling them the truth….it’s not always just kinds words...especially if they are not ture. Ex. making potato salad.

Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

5. "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep." “If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together” (Gal. 6:2; Rom 12:15; 1 Cor. 12:26).

God gave Jonathan a special ministry of edification in David's life. Jonathan came to David and helped him find strength in God….1 Sam. 23:16 And Jonathan, Saul's son, rose and went to David at Horesh, and strengthened his hand in God.

Hebrews 3:12–14, Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have shared in Christ, if we hold our first confidence firm to the end.

We need to: Develop the kind of Christian relationships in which you help each other hold fast to the promises of God and escape the deceitfulness of sin. Exhort one another day in and day out to stand fast and put on the whole armor of God.

What can we learn from  Jonathan and David about helping each other fight the fight of faith.

1. Everyone Needs Christian Friends.

2. A Conscious Effort….we must be intentional

3. Strengthening Each Other in God

Jesus is our ultimate bucket filler!!!….

4. Reminding Each Other of the Promises of God

We need to ask each other questions: "What specific areas of your life has God been building this week?" "What is the greatest need or burden in your life?" "What can I do to minister to you?" "Do you know of any area of my life that needs to be corrected or dealt with?"

MAY WE BE BUCKET FILLERS AND NOT BUCKET DIPPERS!!!!!!

Welcome to the

School room "makeover" edition of the  Not-Back-to-School-Blog Hop!!!! This by far will be my most exciting post yet!!!  As I mentioned in my curriculum post, this is my second time to homeschool .  The last time I homeschooled , my children were in 2nd and 4th grade, and we homeschooled for two years.  We actually did our schooling in a small dining room where the table took up most of the room.  My daughter sat at one end of the table and my son at the other.  I sat in the middle.  I had a wicker basket thingy with 3 drawers with all our stuff.  Now, they are in 9th and 7th grade-which means they are much bigger - lol !!!  Not to mention the fact that I am schooling two of their friends.  That means two 9th graders and two 7th graders. Well, the room I did homeschool in no longer exist due to a little remodeling, and we just so happen to have an extra room that was supposed to me my husbands room for an office and/ or work- out room but actually had turned out

1 Corinthians 13 applied to Christmas

1 CORINTHIANS 13 – - A CHRISTMAS VERSION - By an unknown author If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love, I’m just another decorator. If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love, I’m just another cook. If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love, it profits me nothing. If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir’s cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point. Love stops the cooking to hug the child.Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.Love is kind, though harried and tired. Love doesn’t envy another’s home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens. Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of the wa

Not Back to School Blog Hop: Curriculum

This is our first year back homeschooling. They are in the 9th and 7th grade. The last time we homeschooled, they were in the 2nd and 4th and we homeschooled for two years. For the past three years we have been at a wonderful Christian school in our area. I taught 4th grade and my daughter had a wonderful experience in middle school, 6th through 8th grade. Our school only went to 8th grade. My son had a rougher time. The teachers were wonderful and he had great friends, played basketball and flag football, but academically he struggled due to his autism. The lockers, changing classes, over stimulation, etc. But the Lord has continued to be faithful throughout our school career whether we were in private school, public school, or homeschooling, so I have no doubt that the upcoming year will be no different.  I am so excited to be sharing this adventure with several close friends at my church and equally excited that I will be homeschooling a friend for each of my kids.  We are looki
